Why Dubai, Why Dr. Rafik

Four reasons international patients choose us.

JCI-accredited hospitals

All three of Dr. Rafik's Dubai practice locations are accredited by Joint Commission International — the same standard held by Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic.

Multilingual cardiac team

Dr. Rafik speaks Arabic, English, and Polish. The wider team supports French, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, and Tagalog. Others on request.

Robotic surgery in-region

The robotic cardiac procedures Dr. Rafik offers are otherwise only available in a handful of US and European cities. No need for a transatlantic flight.

Within reach of three continents

Dubai is 4 hours from Mumbai, 5 from Lagos, 6 from London. Direct flights from over 240 cities. Easy for accompanying family to visit.

The Process

Six steps. Start to finish.

From the moment you send us your records to the day you fly home with a treated heart — here's how the process runs, and what we handle on your behalf.

01
Send your records

A first secure exchange.

Send us your imaging (DICOM, JPEGs, or PDFs), recent reports, current medications, and a brief summary of your symptoms. We accept files up to 100 MB via the form below, or you can send them via WhatsApp or email if that's easier.

02
Remote consultation

Dr. Rafik reviews. You meet, by video.

Within 24 working hours, Dr. Rafik or a senior member of his team reviews the records and arranges a video consultation at a time that works for your timezone. Bring family if you'd like — we usually recommend it.

03
Treatment plan & written quote

Your plan, in writing — with a real number.

After the consultation you receive a written treatment plan: which procedure, which approach (robotic, minimally invasive, or open), which hospital, expected length of stay, and a fully itemised cost estimate. Never a vague "from" price. You take the plan home to discuss with your family or your local cardiologist.

04
Travel & visa support

Visa letters, hotel, airport pickup.

Once you decide to proceed, we issue the supporting letter for your medical-treatment visa (which also covers one accompanying family member). We coordinate hotel options near the hospital, arrange airport pickup on arrival, and brief you on what to expect on admission day.

05
Surgery & hospital stay

A typical 5–7 day stay.

Admission, surgery, ICU recovery, ward step-down, and discharge. For robotic procedures, hospital stay is typically 3–5 days. For open surgery, 7–10. Dr. Rafik personally rounds on every patient daily. Your family member stays in the same room.

06
Follow-up & handover

Discharged here. Followed everywhere.

You leave with a complete English-language discharge summary, all imaging, and a written handover for your home cardiologist. Follow-up at two weeks (in Dubai or by video), six weeks (by video), and three months (by video) — with full reports back to your home team.
